Provides overall governance of the organization:

v Establishes mission, strategic goals, programs, and activities
v Provides policy advice, guidance, and leadership
v Oversees policy direction and implementation
v Manages financial resources,
v Establishes strong, positive public image of the organization.

Advisory Board
Serves as resource on a range of topics:

v Recommends interviewees, artists, and graphic artists for SoTYF magazine
v Recommends issues, themes for development
v Identifies speakers for workshops and conferences
v Identifies potential sources of funding

Public Relations/Community Outreach Committee:

v Communicates SoTYF 's goals, mission, and activities to the media and community
v Conducts membership/sponsorship campaigns
v Identifies/recommends sponsors for planned events.

Strategic Planning and Fundraising Committee:

v Collaborates with Board members to develop
v Strategic and financial goals objectives, and activities
v Identifies corporate/foundation funding sources
v Writes grant proposals.

Board and Committee members must be financially supportive.
