Our
Mission at Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation (SoTYF) is to
serve the disadvantaged children ages 5 to 18 and their families
in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Stars of Tomorrow Youth
Foundation will provide assistance and aide to children with
critical needs who desire to play sports or be involved in
extracurricular activities. This program offers its services
year-round. We at The Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation give
children the chance to enjoy childhood activities not normally
available in their communities.
Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation helps children traumatized
by gangs, drugs or community violence. We provide programs
that find creative ways to teach children how to live in diversity
while maintaining peaceful communities. While creating hope
and dreams, the programs teach the children how to resolve
conflict and prevent future violence. Our premise is very
simple: We provide positive activities and role models to
help the youth of our communities gain essential life skills.
We are committed to building positive self worth and promoting
a sense of accomplishment by engaging in fun and competitive
activities.
The president, component directors and a group of volunteer
board members set policy and direct operations for the foundation.
We will work with teenagers to attempt to cut down on juvenile
crimes, our programs we will make our children's dreams come
true. The Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation will also provide
a teen hotline, counseling, mentoring program and a tutor's
referral service. We will work hard to encourage more parental
involvement and restore discipline. We are endeavoring to
better our community "By Teaching Today's Youth…To
be Tomorrow's Leaders."
Objective
Stars
of Tomorrow Youth Foundation; teaching today’s youth
to be tomorrow leaders, by having positive role model and
leaders and periodical showcasing historical and contemporary
African-American literature, art forms, and culture.
Promoting
literary and related endeavors of teens and youth to nurture
their skills and encourage appreciation for culture and things
they have today.

Accomplishments
SoTYF is a growing and thriving organization. Their program,
S.T.A.R.S has attracted students, teachers and other organization
and others who value Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation programs.

Mentoring and tutoring programs for students
Neighborhood peer mediator program
Opportunities for students to earn theirs 36 hour credit needed
for
Graduation
Community service
A support network for student and SoTYF volunteers.
