Building Tomorrows Leaders Annual Giving Fund
The Building Tomorrows Leaders Annual Giving Fund is the cornerstone
of fundraising for SoTYF.
Unrestricted gifts are used to support volunteer, recruitment,
program expansion, specialized initiatives and office space.
Unrestricted gifts allow SoTYF
to distribute dollars to the areas where needed.
The
Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation Campaign
Currently, SoTYF plans
to establish a $1 million Foundation Campaign to ensure the
future of the organization's quality service to single parents
and their families. The creation of an extracurricular scholarship
program for children from single parent homes is a important
focus of the Foundation.
Memorial
Gifts
Any contribution can be made a "Gift in Memory"
of a deceased relative; Stars of Tomorrow Youth Foundation
volunteer or a friend. The memorial gift can be designated
for endowment, scholarship, or special project.
Forms
a Gift Can Take
Cash: An outright gift of cash, the simple form of giving
qualifies as a charitable deduction for federal income tax
purposes.
Combined
Federal Campaign Gifts
Individuals and corporation may elect to support our mission
by designating SoTYF of
the National Capital Area, CFC
#5637, and DC
One Fund 9548 during these important fall campaigns.
Matching
Gifts
Many businesses have matching gift programs, which multiplies
employee contributions. Matching gift form should accompany
your gifts so that SoTYF
can supply your employer with the required gift verification.
Securities
A gift of securities, stocks or bonds entitles the donor to
an income tax deduction; a gift of appreciated securities
may also reduce capital gain tax liability. To make a charitable
gift of securities, stock or bond to support SoTYF
mission and/or realize a capital gain tax saving, the following
information will be helpful.
Real
Estate
A gift of real estate provides the donor an income tax benefit;
since the market value of appreciated property is denunciated
property it's deductible. Property can be donated with the
provision that the donor will continue to occupy it.
Life Insurance
A gift of life insurance, either a paid-up policy or a new
policy naming Star of Tomorrow Youth Foundation, allows the
donor to make a substantial contribution to the agency.
Bequests
A bequest is a gift made through a will. It can be given as
a specific dollar amount, as portion of an estate, or as reminder
share, Many friends make gifts through bequest to perpetuate
lasting ties to the agency and to ensure its future well-being.
A variety of trust arrangements can benefit both your family
and Star of Tomorrow Youth Foundation. Through a reminder
gift, a donor may contribute assets to SoTYF
and retain the income from these assets for life. Through
an income interest gift, a donor may contribute the income
from an asset. Both types of gifts can offer immediate and
future tax advantages. When deciding which gift to make, consult
your attorney and/or financial advisor for tax information

Donation
Have an old car, truck, boat or other vehicle to donate? To
donate your vehicle on-line, V-DAC
(Vehicle Donation to any Charity) is available. Please note
that this is a free service. They will pick-up your vehicle
if so desired. Any proceeds will go directly to support SoTYF
and its member charities. A free, convenient service for converting
that extra car, truck, or RV into a donation for your own
favorite non-profit.
